Orange Stools
- Fruit into Furniture -

Given the constrains of designing a piece of furniture based on a fruit, this set of furniture attempts to bring the essence of an orage into life through form and ergonomics.  Each seperace carpal is represented by tessalating stained baltic birch laminates, the albido is carefully sculped MDF board with a glossy paint and the central column is left as negative space.   Any one of the eight pieces can be used as a stool in a simple rotating.
A tessellation of freeforming shapes reveals a perfect circe.
The albedo is attatched to the carpel using only 4 machined screwes.
A play on light and form.
Each piece is 1'6" tall, 1' wide and approximately 2'6" in length.
