BLUE TAPE Art Talks

BLUE TAPE Art Talks are informal gallery talks and a behind the scenes look at ALH’s exhibition program. In this series, the Director of Exhibitions and Curatorial Projects and I discuss the current exhibitions on view, as well as chat about installing with the artists and ALH’s open call process. The initial purpose behind the talks was to help bridge the disconnect between ALH exhibitions and the ALH school. The talks are open to anyone and we ensure that we use language that is accessible.

We came up with the name because we use quite a bit of blue painter's tape during exhibition install. I created the blue tape roll and blue tape strips in Adobe Illustrator, mimicking the color of blue seen on blue tape. The edges of the tape are uneven as if you had just ripped a piece off.
The image I used for social media promotion. I overlaid the tape roll and strips over a gallery image of one of the exhibitions. Information about the topic of conversation are in the upper left corner. The strip contains information about date and time of the talk.
BLUE TAPE Art Talks were meant to be in-person talks, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were moved online.
