Abstract Portfolio Book
This book acts as an exploration of the essence of time within New York City. It contains a collection of work which I produced durring my time studying there, and each piece relates to the city's unique relationship with time. This compilation grew out of my personal reflection on how the city is tied to the pressing nature of each moment, yet dwells in the midsts of a vast history which stretches back centuries. Additionally, I sought to explore the ephemeral nature of design, as it constantly passes through our lives, consumed in brief moments.
The entire contents of the book were photographed as images were projected against a wall, in order to signify the fleeting way in which design passes through our lives. Furthermore, the projects are each labeled by a timestamp which represents the length of time it takes to consume the corresponding piece. Interspersed throughout the book is original photography which depicts individuals passing through various spaces in the city. All the photography is presented in triads which track the blurred movement of the subject as they passed before the lens of the camera.
