The B(r)and
HANYA are a dreampop quartet hailing from the south coast, UK. Their sublime blend of psychedelia and indie shoegaze has graced the main stage at Latitude, featured heavily on Radio 1 playlists and taken the band on tours of both the US and the UK. Their sophomore album -100 Metre Sprint - was released digitally and on limited cassette in 2021 and is set for an exclusive vinyl pressing in early 2022.
The Project
I was approached to produce cover artwork for both their debut album release and two preceding digital single releases - Logan’s Run and Fortunes. The band came with some references to 60s and 70s album covers that they loved, in particular an African funk album that we drew inspiration from. As a music lover, working on a multi-format, physical album release was a project close to my heart. Having forged a good working relationship with the band, we plan to collaborate on other future releases and affiliated media.
