Dizajn miejsc codziennych [Design of everyday places] by Aleksandra Koperda is a collection of 24 interviews with designers, architects, and design lovers about their places to live (and work). In every chapter we can find also additional articles, highlights and stories about famous designers, iconic objects, interesting design stores, unique collections or architecture. The wide range of topics makes this book a comprehensive and fascinating design guide with a complicated structure.
The book contains more than 400 photos, both contemporary and archival, and about 20 sketches of architectural designs.
I was asked for designing the book layout, typesetting, and DTP. The aim was to highlight the diversity of the topics included in every interview. I decided to use bright colors, three different fonts, and follow the photos’ composition in the layout, expanding objects into geometric shapes. I wanted to preserve book structure’s consistency and, simultaneously, make the project dynamic.
