This series of photos were taken in the old storage / garage of a farm in the Landes (South-West region of France), where a friend invited me for a few days. A city girl, born and raised in Paris, farm life has long been a fascination to me - and obviously, a great change of scenery - one I was excited to explore for this project.

As soon as I saw this jumble of old rusty farming tools and machinery elements, I knew I had to try and capture that peculiar atmosphere. Hoarding, organized mess, deliberate accumulation of machine parts, dust, bits and pieces, the whole thing seemed to me to be very emblematic of farm life, a life for which you feel the need to keep every little thing in storage, 'just in case'. Rust and dust with their strong palets of natural colors, a random yet graceful piling of elements, a thin winter sunbeam filtering through the door...

It was a strangely poetic moment, one I tried to express through these photos.
