What You Really Love

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”

Revisiting this work from more than three years ago was such a fascinating experience.
Apart from the technical aspects and changes in the picture, it made me think about memories – about how they can change over time, or, to be more precise, how they appear to be different influenced with our experience of the present moment.
The way we feel right now has a power to change how we see the past, although from our perspective it looks like the past is actually changing.
I also started to think about concept of emotional time-traveling – sometimes we have a flash of our consciousness from the past, usually it’s just a piece of emotion or memory that evokes a strange feeling of nostalgia. But that’s because there is a dissonance between how we feel right now and how we felt back then.
We have a feeling that the place where we are right now is somehow worse, we are looking through a window but we can’t get in, we can only see it from the outside.
This is where we are in this kind of moment – outside of our soul, trapped in repetitive negative thoughts of our mind.
But if we are able to find that child-like joy again, that desire to explore the world without the need for a purpose, that fascination with every aspect of the human experience, then we can travel in time to visit all the beautiful memories and emotions from the past to experience them fully again in the present moment.
