Passive littering is a common problem in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) that usually takes place on study tables outside lecture theatres or along campus walkways where students leave their rubbish behind without clearing up at the point of leaving the tables.
To tackle the issue of passive littering, National Environment Agency (NEA) implements a project with Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) to test the effectiveness of different types of prompt in reducing passive littering. This project is required to conceptualise and design a logo and a decal, which able to convey a message to remind students to clear up their rubbish.

This project is required to conceptualise and design a logo and a decal, which able to convey a message to remind students to clear up their rubbish.
This logo is based on the concept of “reminder” and “attention”, therefore, an exclamation mark is used as the main visual representation. The exclamation mark is formed by things that are often left behind by students around the school area. The visual also demonstrates how trash should go into a dustbin instead of been thrown around haphazardly. The colours and subtle icon graphics used, embody a “vivacious, fresh and positive” feel.
