Under The Impression, the prequel to Under Current Conditions is the second novel from bestselling author, Kyle Darcy. The story begins in the waning days of World War II as a group of Nazi elite escapes to South America. This gripping and fast paced narrative weaves through decades and continents into the worlds of drug cartels, terror organizations and intelligence communities.
I was responsible for Art Directing and executing the layout/typography. The author requested that the cover have the same triangular title treatment as Under Current Conditions. I hired illustrator Forest Stearns, to execute my concept art which captures your attention via prop plane underbelly as it lands in the jungles of South America. Bold lettering for the title treatments are complementary to the bold colors and graphical elements. The back cover presents a crucial plot element of the World Cup involving USA, Columbia and Ireland.
