Ryan Myers's profile

Thank you, Jake.

Jake Burton had a huge impact on my life. Not directly, I did not personally know him. I've met him, ridden his products, been inspired by his team riders, his brand, the aesthetic. It was the 1995 Burton catalog that really did it for me. That catalog had me mesmerized, excited, and obsessed. The graphics, colors, the style, everything had my hooked.

Jake passed away in November of 2019 and I felt compelled to make something to commemorate him. Nothing over the top, nothing groundbreaking. I just wanted to make something simple, to show respect. One of Burton's first logos was the mountain logo. I decided to use some of the early colors used on "Burton Boards" and gear. Navy and Crimson, with the subtle mountain logo in the "A". I shared it on social media and it was then shared by a handful of people as well.

My way of saying, "Thank you, Jake".
