Havas Design Portugal was responsible for the rebranding of EDP Distribuição, now called E-REDES.
E-REDES is the major player in electricity distribution in Portugal. It's responsible for the management of the high and medium voltage grids, whose grantor is the State, and of low voltage, through municipal concessions, connecting businesses, companies and most importantly, people, in a constant network of energy.
The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) determined the separation of image between operators of the same economic group within the electricity sector, namely the Distribution Network Operator, in line with the indications of the European Commission. To this extent, all references and/or images relating to EDP Distribuição, as from the present date and for all due legal and regulatory purposes, should be interpreted as reference to E-REDES.
The rebranding process began in 2017 with the creation of the name and strategy and released in 2021 with the brand guidelines and implementation.
Breaking with the past, which no longer has elements of color or design common to other companies in the EDP universe, Havas Design created a dynamic moving identity, over a bright yellow and a symbol "E" representing the endless energy, reinforcing the identification, uniqueness and neutrality of the distribution network operator.
