A picture is worth a million words. If you look intently you get the message. This photo won me a 3rd place award in the mission to end SGBV creative campaign and an opportunity to meet @aminamohammed whose work ethic I admire greatly. #ENDSGBV#16daysofactivism.

This is a passion project for me that got me out of my comfort zone to create a piece that will raise awareness on SGBV that affect the youth mostly. I recognize that gender violence affects both men and women. The perpetrators are the people that are trusted and close to us including family members and religious leaders.

Gender based violence happening to men has not been widely highlighted and documented. In fact they are the most underreported cases. Men also experience violence. It’s time we balanced the scale in dealing with #SGBV through all avenues. It’s time to raise awareness, listen and act against the perpetrators of SGBV.
