"Go Explore" was the first project in my Creative and Critical Thinking design class as well as my first time using Adobe Illustrator. One aspect of life I have always focused on and wanted to do more of is exploration. I learned this trait from my grandpa, who has traveled the world and all over the US. He visited the US National Parks in his VW bus one time, which is what inspired the bus in my illustration. Along with that, my grandpa lives in Boulder, Colorado right near the Flat Irons and that is one of my favorite places to visit. The mountains bring me so much peace, joy, and comfort and the mountains are a part of the world I would like to explore more. 

As my first project in Illustrator, I primarily used shapes and the pen tools with basic color fills and strokes. With the sun, I added some textures and used different pen strokes for the sun rays but I stayed pretty conservative in trying to use the program on my first project.
