One Moment at a Time

Introduction:

Once the concept of "Borders" was presented as our final project, the object of thought that came to mind was the "Borders of Time." That ever present border that we contend with one moment at a time.

I created a storyboard with rough sketches to convey the journey from infancy through old age, as they come to understand the world around them, one moment at a time. Eventually traveling to the border of the unknown.

The Process:

-After creating the story boards, I took and reviewed pictures I had taken, in order to find the images best suited for the project. I continued to reduce my selections over and over until I had what I believed to be the best 6 pictures for the project.

-I brainstormed ideas regarding all ages and their characteristics. I created a file on my computer for this project with multiple folders to hold my ideas (pictures, storyboards and brainstorming thoughts). I reviewed all the links on Canvas regarding this project until my initial research was completed.

-Then I uploaded them into the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop applications per the instructions in class, from canvas, and through the tutorials in Adobe. I first cleaned up and cropped each photo. Then I selected the best photo to provide a color palette as a basic color design for all the photos. (I tried multiple pictures to find the best color palette to ensure that all the pictures had a consistent tone throughout).

-Once satisfied I created a new file in Adobe InDesign following the instructions from class and tips from the tutorials and research. I added the captions I thought were best suited for each picture.
Below are my notes and sketches:
