Rachel Schenck's profile

CPG Package Design

I restaged the styling and finishing packaging for this salon product line that included 10 SKUs. The products were color coded to their hold power factor. A graphical respresentation of a swirl of hair flows onto the bottles from left to right in a light gradient.
This restage was complete with 14 SKUs of a color depositing shampoo. I chose a tall, slender bottle with fitted cap for a no-shoulder look. Since there were 14 SKUs, it was essential I use labeling decoration. I chose a flood of warm silver metallic and created an iconic logo for the brand name.
I directed the launch to salons of a new retail line to capture a younger, fresher clientele. I chose the packaging shapes, created the color scheme, designed the bottle art as well as all of the sales, marketing and education pieces for the initial launch as well as all subsequent SKU launches. I worked with our marketing department to develop promotions, promotional items and industry advertising to promote the new brand. I worked with an internal team of 6 and with an external packaging distributor on all aspects of the bottle, print, color and timeline targets throughout the entire 1 year development of the initial 11 SKUs. The full 13 SKU line is now in salons all across the US.
I worked with an oversees manufacturer to create a hobo-style bag with a small icon stitched on the front and matched the colors of the bag with the color scheme of the line. Stylists could purchase the promotion shown here as a try-me/small start-up and to familiarize themselves with the new brand. Education materials as well as coupons for future purchases were also included in the promotional bag.
