The second part of the White Heron comparison is the Little Egret.
L'Aigrette garzette possède un long bec noir. La couleur des lores (espace entre l'œil et le bec) peut varier en fonction de son état physiologique.
The Little Egret has a long black bill. The colour of the lores (the space between the eye and the beak) can vary depending on her physiological state.

L'Aigrette doit son nom à la plume ornementale à l'arrière de la tête, typique en période nuptiale.

Les jeunes sont nourris par les deux parents par régurgitation directement dans le bec du jeune.
The young are fed by both parents by regurgitation directly into the beak of the young.
Les jeunes s'aventureront hors du nid au bout de 3 semaines mais ne feront leur premier vol qu'au bout de 5 semaines.
