SHAREK | the Arabic synonym of "Share"

Short-listed at the NABAD Social Entrpreneurship Competition | Beirut 2012

Sharek is a platform that ambitiously aims to uplift the Agriculture industry in Lebanon, a highly potent sector that so far has been neglected by Lebanon's government & officials.

The projct is a for profit platform founded and operated by a number of cross-discpline professionals in the field of : Marketing, Consultancy, finance & agri-business

I. Sharek connects to the ever-growing number of companies & retailers looking to invest in a CSR campaign.

II. Sharek performs a nation wide survey of national farmers, their land & production abilities. This kind of work will be coordinated with municipalities and conducted via the "Sharek" internship program to be conducted with several Lebanese universities which host an agri-businessprogram but fail to offer "Hands on" experience for their students.

III. Sharek assembles all data and evaluates farmer needs (expertise / skills / tools / market know-how).

IV. Our system cross matches farmer needs with our list of companies and retailers. Those which depending on size & ability can either donate money for tools, seeds .... or donate expertise to help farmers evolve their craft.

V. The system intends to be a credible & transparent source for all enthusiats, local NGOs and Educational institutes to monitor which companies are supporting local produce & farmers through an online presence as well as a "SHAREK" label offered to committed partners and retailers.

VI. SHAREK generates profit through the data it collects and through collaborations with educational institutes that wish to expand on the currently frail educational programs in the feild of Agri-business.
