As part of a Typography class, we were tasked to select a place in Singapore and create a promotional poster, A5 cards and merchandise for an event at that place. As such, I picked Hougang, a place in the heartlands which I thought didn’t get the attention it deserved.

Inspired by popular night markets in Taiwan, I decided to promote the more upbeat side of the place, hence I decided to work on a hip night market in Hougang. My designs focused on dark colours to illustrate “night”, utilized a granular texture often seen in night photography, as well as outlines to mimic neon signs that are usually seen at night.
