A COLLISION OF TWO WORLDS
Glenfiddich invited illustrators and designers from a selection of 4 locations around the world to reimagine the filigree design that adorns the Grande Couronne packaging sleeve, submitting a digital illustration or design in their own unique style that is representative of your country’s rich heritage and culture.
Below is the sketch I created before I added colour and the woodcut style detailing.
My design is influenced by vintage patterns involving nature and the natural world. When I first moved to Germany I was instantly taken by the landscape and how much time I was spending outdoors, whether it was swimming in the lakes, going for walks, or just sitting in the park spending time with friends. This is represented through the leafy filagree and natural colours. In amongst the filagree I wanted to represent other cultural elements of Germany all intertwined together, all equally important.
