How is the wall inhabited - is there a directed program or can people use the wall however they like?

The wall functions through its flexibility and function. The direct balancing of individual breaks within the wall forms the open landscape for the wall. Opening spaces and cuts within the wall form unique integrated designs for the wall. The function for the design follows the environmental integration and reflection of Chinese heritage.

What type of program do you find within the deep wall  

The spaces which inhabit the spaces shows the private and open space.

How does the deep wall relate to an urban area - is it on a street, does it face a park, is it the entry to a building?

The deep wall is centered within the public park, as well as the Ancestral Temple. This relates to the southeast city which open more space with the public use of space and area.

How does the building relate to other edges which surround it - does it align with other buildings, is it accessed via a common public spaces?

The building is accessed within a common space which is public within the situated space. This is surrounded by a wall but within the space, which creates a lot of internal space which plays with combining the internal and external forms of the world.

How do you approach the wall - can you understand the spatial quality of the wall on approach? Is there a sense of mystery about the wall?

The space is recognized as the different between spatial qualities which wide around variety of materials linking the geometric and traditions.

Finally, how has you thinking about 'what your wall wants to be' been influenced by the wall you chose to look at?

The Forbidden city red-wall teahouse as the inspiration, as the developments towards the spaces as air and light should further amplify the experience. The transitions work towards the idea of internal space and the development of it. The use of space and modifying the space within the design should include similar use of materials and design aesthetic choices.
