On August 8 of 2020, I decided to look back into my old drawings and designs of these characters of mine and search for inspirational ideas to fuse with ideas I already have had in my head and redesign their first fairy forms in a first phase.
Each of my characters have their own inspirational mood board that leads into their final version of their new fairy forms designs I did back in 2020 so you know within which ideas I lead myself to their new designs. Each girl got a redesign based on their power and to get away from the fact that their old designs were not good enough for me to keep. I wanted them to have much more details than being simple or ripped off from the original Winx Club magic winx/charmix outfits thus being unique. Their old designs were also a good inspirational idea to move into the idea of redesign each girl's Magic Charmix.
First, we have Selia. Who is a fairy of the Sunrise and Sunset. She was easy to be redesigned.
Her dress is the same colour as of that of the photo of the woman wearing it because I want the colour to give her powers the vibe that they are as warm as the dress's colour. Her wings might be blue like her eyes are or maybe a colour of the shades of the sky when the sun is setting or rising.
Next one is Penelope. She's a fairy of water and honestly, she was hard to be redesigned by me so I looked up into something different than just only the prototype and the official versions of Bloom's Magic Winx/Charmix from Winx Club to attempt to make something new and different out of it. So I thought that since Penelope is also a fashion designer, I thought, why not using a regular dress from real life to match it with her new fairy form design so it looks completely different? And so I choose what I liked best for her so her new concept design has the dress and shoes I, especially wings I got inspired to use for her.
I haven't decided which colours to give her dress though.
Here, we have Smaragda. A fairy of Ice (who has the ability to manipulate the water as well thus freezing it while she's using it) who's the twin sister of Bloom from the Winx Club. She was not that hard to be redesigned. But I wanted her outfit to be as unique as possible.
Her colour on her outfit will keep being in different shades of blue and also white to give it the vibe she has cold colours on her thus making her hair into a lighter version of orange as if she has got the colour of granita ice cream to match her cold colours better.
My favourite redesigns of them all which was Kyla's. Kyla is a fairy of Hate. Yes, a strong emotion I turned into magical power which is counting as a dark power due to the strenght of hatred itself as an ordinary feeling. So I thought her outfits being gothic would match this kind of power I created myself. Even though Kyla herself as a character, is indeed a goth person. She is not evil though.
And this got to be her finalized version of her new design which it was really the best of me to do. Also, despite of her outfit having black colours, she also has very dark red colours because I symbolize the dark red colour with hatred although as an exception, she is able to have white as a part of her outfits colours despite that white itself is a synthesis of all colours we know.
Next one is Avalanna. A fairy of Crystals giving the vibes she's coming from the medieval ages. She was pretty easy to redesign.
About her new design, I'm between this one.
And this one. Who knows if I'll ever give it another chance to make new designs for 2021? Or if I'll ever bring back this project?
And last one of my girls. Fay. Who is a fairy of the darkness and the purple fire. She was extremely easy to redesign. I wanted her new outfit to have the same concept as her old one but with many changes on it.
Her outfit has shades of black while in her wings, a dark shade of purple is being seen due to the fact that she has the powers of purple fire and darkness. She is wearing a complete jumpsuit underneath her crop waistcoat/vest, skirt, long sleeve gloves and boots.
So that was all I wanted to mention about this project I can say I left it because I have had many other stuff to handle and due to lack of ideas for this project to continue. So who knows, if I'll bring new versions of these concept arts I did back in 2020 (like I said before)? I hope you like it anyway and thanks for watching.
