I recently had the fantastic opportunity to spend a couple of hours photographing people inside a mental institution. I did not know what kind of approach to take on this or what to expect. Once there I discovered a very different reality to what I had in my mind. I was very surprised and pleased to discover how this amazing people where showing themself to me and my camera with no pre-concepted barrier whatsoever. No pretends, no adjusting hair or posing, no forced smiles or cool expressions, just bare naked souls looking at the lens like saying here I am, like or not this is what you get.
