The marathon was arranged to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy or "D-Day" in World of Tanks. Every day a user could both complete quests and read historical facts about Hobart's Funnies. It was the nickname given to a number of specialist armored fighting vehicles derived from tanks operated.
The main reward of the marathon was M10 RBFM with a historical style "Siroco". This formidable machine became one of the symbols of the liberation of France and all of Europe in August 1944.
