This Otherworld (Powis Castle Yew Tree)

In the grounds of there magnificent Powis Castle, just outside Welshpool, Wales, are the remains of a yew colonnade or tunnel, popularly planted from the 17th century in stately homes. This single tree had a rather subdued presence on the present-day pathway and was rather difficult to photograph sympathetically. Its power and psychic influence increased manyfold as I started to work on the few images I had made.
