Maya nasce dall’incontro tra due mondi. Il connubio tra la semplicità della linea pura e la complessità dell’intreccio. La scelta materica e il colore della corda in nylon accentuano la lettura organica, ambigua e misteriosa: ciò che si cela dietro qualsiasi innovazione, tra la manipolazione visionaria di un insieme di linee e la progettazione di una seduta. L’ obiettivo era quello di sedersi sull l’anima della sedia e non sulla struttura. Il tubo è stato piegato a macchina ed è composto da quattro semicerchi che sono stati poi saldati insieme, creando l’intera struttura. La sedia è stata successivamente verniciata con vernice a polvere, che aumenta la resistenza e la durata del colore.
Abbiamo usato come materiale, per l’intreccio, una corda di materiale plastico, utilizzato normalmente nel campo nautico, quindi molto resistente alla trazione; rendendo così la sedia adatta ad ambienti interni ed esterni. La seduta è progettata per essere utilizzata sia da adulti che da bambini, quindi comprende una funzionalità mutevole: grazie alla sua struttura può ruotare, invertendo così l’altezza della seduta. (altezza adulta 45 cm, altezza bambino 27 cm).
La lettura è razionale, ma l’aspetto disorienta. La sensazione è di trovarsi davanti a una struttura concettuale dove la fisica, le forze e le dinamiche assumono una forma tridimensionale.
Maya is born from the encounter between two worlds. The combination of the simplicity of pure line and the complexity of the plot. The choice of material and color of the nylon rope accentuate the organic reading , ambiguous and mysterious : what lies behind any innovation , including the visionary manipulation of a set of lines and the design of a session. The ' goal was to sit on the soul of the chair and not on the structure. The tube has been bent to the machine and is composed of four semi-circles which were then welded together , creating the entire structure . The chair is then coated with powder paint , which increases the strength and duration of color .
We used it as material for the plot, a rope made of plastic, normally used in the nautical field , so very high tensile strength , thus making the chair suitable for indoor and outdoor use . The seat is designed to be used by both adults and children , and includes a feature changeable due to its structure can rotate, thus reversing the seat height . ( adult height 45 cm, height 27 cm child ) .
