The Wounded Warrior Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an array of supportive services and programs for military service members injured while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. The organization addresses both physical and mental injuries and has touched the lives of 157,975 military members (known as warriors) and 40,520 family members since its founding in 2003.

One of the Wounded Warrior Project’s initiatives, Project Odyssey, addresses the mental health needs of warriors through a 12-week program designed to help manage and overcome non-physical challenges. The program is available in all-male, all-female, and couples’ formats and begins with a 5-day, in-person workshop where participants learn the tools and skills needed to be successful. Following the workshop, participants remain engaged over 12 follow-up weeks of engagement, goal setting, and reinforcement of positive life changes.
