For the majority of my life Star Wars dominated my imagination, and for the longest time I considered Star Trek as this competing force for the science fiction hall of fame. JJ Abrams new film series has changed my mind, it was a segeway for me to jump on the trek wagon and get into the old series and movies.

And sure, there may be a controversy out there between old school fans and the new ones (did he try to remake Wrath of Khan, are there just way too many lens flairs?) but haters can hate, "live long and prosper."
