Visual identity for AKIKO SATO — Drawing Exibition in Museum of Arts and Crafts Permanent Exhibition, 2018.
Choosing figural motifs, especially human and animal characters in various variations from mythological or sacral heroes and allegories to civic portraits, commemorative busts and decorative figurines, Akiko Sato sketches the silent inhabitants of museum collections looking at them as symbolic representatives of strong feelings and psychological meanings. This creates a series of ambient drawings that are hung in the middle of the exhibition halls, creating spatial compositions in which new relationships between museum objects come to the fore, which enable the free dynamics of association.
With their floating positions in the museum space, drawings form their own line of scattered "scene events" humorously incorporated in the remarkable scenery of the Permanent Exhibition.
