KISMAS / FLUX

This is my artistic colaboration with Lithuanian brand "Kismas" (eng. - "Flux") that represents the dimmable table luminaires made of recycled materials - glass blocks from the 1970s and 1980s, which were highly popular in the postmodernist architecture of socialist countries.
01 Inspiration

I was playing around with a dimmer of "Kismas" lamp in my living room and have noticed that the changing light distorts the perception of the surroundings: the play of light and shadows turned the space around me from static to dynamic thus created an illusion of change. This inspired me to created a photo story about the state of change between order and chaos, darkness and lightness, artificial and natural.

02 The process

The illumination in my photographs was made by using the light emitted from "Kismas" lamp through it's colour filters. It was used either in the physical settings, or pasted onto the photograph during post production process.
