In the last month, players claimed that @StepBackRack, an infamous member of the Twitch community dubbed "Rack," snatched hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Australian and New Zealand communities in NBA 2K22 MT an apparent investment scam. It's been reported that another gamer known as @Raangee was part of the scam.

Tyceno, an online streamer and YouTuber was the first person to reveal the fraud. He enticed young gamers to pay them hundreds of dollars for the promise of thousands more. Tyceno's blog stated "I have good reasons to believe that @StepBackRack was behind a massive illegal pyramid scheme which took place within the NBA 2K Community in which over $200,000 was snatched from vulnerable young people who believed they could "flip the money'."

However, it's unclear whether Rack or Raangee were knowingly involved in the scam or whether their accounts were hacked. We have tried to contact the two of them multiple times but and have had no luck.

Tyceno and other alleged victims discussed with us the way in which "Rack" spoke via phone chat to various of gamers in the age group.
