CYKLISTS MANIFESTO
In April this year, I was working on a design proposal which focused on analysing a specific need for a target group who are normally excluded by design. The human needs regarding health and safety were analysed while keeping in mind the perspective of sustainability.

My target group was established through identifying my Slovakian mother’s need of cycling without stigma and shame which is sadly dominant in that culture. In order to raise awareness about this stigma I made a prototype by creating space for bicycles on roads and parking lots. Prototype endorsed on making bicycle more socially acceptable by experimenting on idea of extending space for bicycles rather than only vehicles.

During the project, I explored several design methods and tools such as Adobe Photoshop, film editor programs, creative writing, photography and 4mapping. In these explorations I highlighted needs for the target group on the personal, cultural and global levels.

My final design demonstrated a social movement called Earth Day and is meant to support cyclists in utilizing the bike in society thereby addressing climate recognition. The manifesto motivated cyclists, to thwart social stigmas affiliated with biking and be responsive of physical as well as emotional needs in biking.
