Empire of Opposites is an accordion-fold book that explores the concept of inside and outside. Inspired by the intricate door pulls on Italian homes, it focuses on the senses and experiences of entering a Roman building. The theme centers on the endeavors of Alice attempting to enter Wonderland; it follows and correlates her trials with the array of steps one must go through when entering a Roman home. Created while living in Rome, Italy. Select spreads are shown.

Awarded the Award of Excellence for Editorial Campaign in the 2011 Art Director’s Association of Iowa Student Design Exhibition.
