Notebook CALÇADA. CARAVELA (original illustration)
Project co-authored with Elisabete Gaspar
Design inspired by the original portuguese pavement, "Calçada", metaphorized here on a sinuous course of river, navigated by the famous portuguese caravels, "Caravelas Portuguesas".
The caravels were the vessels used by the portuguese voyages of discoveries , from 1440 until 1488, when Bartolomeu Dias crossed the "Cabo da Boa Esperança" and went the Indian Ocean, making way for the voyage of Vasco da Gama and the discovery of the sea route to India.
