"Vegans: Manatees n' Bunnies" Archival Print

Behance.net
The "mermaid" of myth is one of the gentlest creatures you will see, and maybe the least equipped to survive in such close proximity to human beings, thus its quickly vanishing from the Earth. We really wanted to just expose people to the existence of this animal and relate it to one of our more favored vegan animals. Would we let bunny rabbits go extinct so easily?

This is the second print we created for our friends at Pangea Seed pairing an endangered sea creature with a domesticated land animal.

We asked our fans who owned bunnies to send us photos of their pet rabbits and we got quite a response.  Using photo reference of manatees shot by our friend, photographer Eric Cheng, and the photos of our fans' bunnies, kozy spent a number of days making detailed pencil renderings of these herbivores with the bunnies riding the manatees.  She painted a floral elements separately and then the drawing and floral elements were scanned. In photoshop the drawings were arranged and painted, and the floral elements arranged into a pattern behind them to create the final image.

The resulting limited edition print is now available through our web store, Pangea Seed and heading out to our various retailers world wide
