In late August 2021, the ARC North Texas Region deployed its personnel and emergency response vehicle to support the residents in Louisiana who survived the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida. The volunteers and the car sent by ARC North Texas Region joined 500 other volunteers doing relief work in Louisiana.
Before Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana, ARC had prepared for the worst by collecting supplies of about 68,000 ready-to-eat meals, comfort kits, blankets, and cots. These are the items that the emergency vehicles brought to the affected families in Louisiana. Hurricane Ida was a category 4 storm that endangered the Gulf Coast. It brought a life-threatening storm surge on the day the equally devastating Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana 16 years ago.
