Every guitar player has their heroes. The ones that influence their playing, song writing, and attitude. The players above are mine. Billy Duffy of the Cult, Johnny Marr, famously of The Smiths, and William Reid of The Jesus and Mary Chain. You will rarely, if ever, see their faces adorning the covers of any guitar related publications however, their influence on myself and a host of other more “alternative” guitar players cannot be understated. Their bands are my Beatles, my Rolling Stones, my Led Zeppelin. In short, the bands that got me to plug in that guitar, crank up the volume knob, and make some beautiful noise. This art will eventually grace the walls of my still-under-construction music room.
