Filming locations campaign for OFE

During my internship with the Florida Office of Film and Entertainment (OFE), I helped with marketing and outreach and managed their social media accounts.

The primary goal was to encourage filmmakers to invest in Florida as a filming destination that was worthy of competing with any of the other states known for producing movies. It was important to show versatility for the state, to appeal to the various needs of filmmakers for their projects. My first campaign project featured a search bar and shots of beaches in Florida. It later evolved into using the same search bar graphic, but with various camera-ready locations.
These posts seemed to be pretty popular with their followers, and it inspired a thought to shift into featuring well-known film locations in Florida. Film tourism is popular on Instagram so the first feature used a still from "Edward Scissorhands," filmed in several smaller Florida towns.

We only used the one on the right, because we wanted to encourage local residents to register their homes as filming locations and felt they could relate more to seeing other homes listed as "celebrities."
The captions for these posts needed to tie in the graphics with the department's objective of selling Florida as a camera-ready location, in addition to educating the public on a lesser known access point to Hollywood via their homes.
