Festa Junina (June Celebration), it´s a traditional popular festival that takes place in Brazil in the month of June. After Carnival, “Festa Junina” has become the second biggest celebration of the year. This festivity began in Brazil in the 17th century, with the arrival of the Portuguese.
By commemorating the existence of Catholic saints: Saint John, Saint Anthony and Saint Peter, the Festa Junina has a direct relationship with popular Catholicism.
