Short Story Michael Köhlmeier

The story is about a "milchig" spoon used for dairy in a jewish household. After being used by a careless kid for eating meat, the father brings it to a synagoge where it gets lost and ends up in the belongings of a hawker (Hausierer) who's shoes give him great pain. In the end, the milchig spoon ends up in a drawer with other cutlery.
