DELUXE ALBUM - PROMO CAMPAIGN

In the last year, we've been able to establish the narrative of Glenn Gould as the 'Godfather of Electronic Music'. We've proved that this is a compelling story, polarizing to both Gould fans and the average music consumer who learned of Gould through our record. Given recent events in the music industry, now is a better time than ever to double down on this narrative and take this project to the next level. 
With all the press Kanye West is getting for his antic's surrounding the release of his new album, it's literally all been done before by Gould. Both are considered eccentric, unorthodox, unique, musical geniuses of their time. Getting Gould back in the public consciousness through a large-scale music outlet would do a significant amount to promote the album. 'Gould did it before Kanye' could be a headline that could lead to more plays and views than any playlist ever could. 
Using a dropshipping merch company, we should print 20-30 different shirts and give them away to artists, musicians, and influencers and have them wish Gould a happy birthday on their social media platforms. Artists such as Mac Demarco, Yoyo Ma, and Sam Roberts have all referenced Gould as an influence. It might be a good idea to reach out to some people unfamiliar with Gould, especially in Canada, to put together a Gould Appreciation Campaign. This could be a relatively cheap way to direct different audiences to Gould and the album.

Learning from last year's Uninvited Guests campaign, we now know that while posting content on Glenn Gould channels did lead to engagement, it wasn't what the subscribers wanted. While a conventional music video or live video might be out of the budget, an animated video hosted on either the 4AD (Meg's Label 250k subs) or our own Division 88 (2.5k subs) channels. The video below is an animated video I did for a song of mine called 'The Waves.'  Using a white wall and many Life Magazine scans, I made a very cool animation in about two weeks for $600. A video like this would also be easy to shop to the various publications for features or premiers.
