Beetroot was commissioned to design the “Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union” logo. A sailboat in full sail is formed from the initials of the European Union (e.u.). The means by which the ancient peoples managed to contact and connect with each other, reminds us of the beginnings of the European people’s union as well as the fact that the present-day European citizens are sailing together towards a common future.
This symbol of transition and exploration is presented here as an allegory of the communication between European people and the need for a harmonious and productive cohabitation and collaboration, within certain space, in a shared journey to growth.
