FELLOWS Illustration - The Band
“FELLOWS Illustration” are the series of the illustration work I do for @Fellows4Life. This is the brand what I've started since 2014 and the place I enjoy creating most in my work. I’ve had the unique opportunity to bring my creations to everybody, from sketchs to clothing and more.
Let’s dive into the process for this one!
Sketches
I began with my sketchbook then i've finish in Procreate. Sketching in Procreate or sketchbook enables me to sketch anywhere - from my desk or anyplace outside the office - and it often helps to get outside to see where inspiration will strike. One way I like to vary my approach is to paint in simple black and white values to explore different compositions, lighting, and initial ideas.
Colors
With the sketch in place, I began crafting the shapes, forms, textures, and lighting of the full size illustration in black and white. Here is the monogram version I came up with:
My initial color roughs skewed more toward rainy night. After a few variations, i decided to introduce more pink-blue into the sunset while introducing golden hour lighting to everything. The result gave it a nostalgic and dramatic effect we were all happied with.
Once we had the final color direction set, it was time to dive into the details and really bring everything together. Here are a few variations:
