Compose

Challenge: To create an app for music composers and music lovers.
Deliverables: Strategy, User-research, Task flows, Sketches, Prototype.
Compose is an online app for music composers and music listeners.

Challenge:
The challenge is to make an interactive app for a wide range of music composers and music listeners.

Process:
For the initial research, I've talked to different composers and asked how they would like to compose in an app as their hobby. During the synthesize phase, I have analyzed how the compositions are made more interactive. Then I generated task flows to understand how to manage the user-flow, created Lo-Fi sketches and Hi-Fi clickable prototypes. At the end, I was able to validate whether the app is engaging to all kinds of users. Now, let's dig in deeper into each step.
Research
I first did research on whether users are interested to compose on an app. The major concerns for this app are
1.For any user, it should be easy to like a composition and listen to it on loop, and to favourite some of own compositions too.
2.The composers can record any time, pause and resume as they wish before they add the composition. They can easily check in their profile for their compositions.

Synthesize
I’ve synthesized on my findings and focused on what leads to the maximum benefit of the app. I’ve my findings organised to better understanding of relation between them and determine priority moving forward in the process.
My findings include an how users like to easily add a composition to their favourites and how a composer can have his/her own time in recording, pausing, resuming the composition.

Ideate
Task flow:
I’ve created task flows for a typical user who might want to
-like his favourite music or
-add his own composition.

Low-fi Sketches:
After ideating different task flows, and during the process of design I continued referring the target audience on how to make things simpler for the user. After few iterations, I came with these good to go solutions.
Prototype
Hi-Fi Prototype:
Moving forward, I turned my low-fi sketches into hi-fi prototypes. Below are those prototypes.
Animated Prototype:
To demonstrate the proposed flow when users are using the app, I generated an animated prototype.
Validate
After user research, analysis and iterations, I was able to validate that the result is quite good.
