This project was collaboration between me and Fihir Omar from EEE Laboratory.

The human emotion is incredibly complex and intricate that when translated into a non-textual narrative, the emotions are still succinctly decoded by the users. This delicate process, is most fascinating and intriguing to us, and we would very much like to orchestrate this to present to the people that it is most beneficial to actively express your emotions, as the entire process is as organic as it is beautiful. The need for self-expression is instinctual, hence the title of our project, Naluri, which translates to instinct, in Malay. We hope to capture the essence of the human’s basic need to express their emotions, using this project as the platform for our research into delving deeper into exploring emotional expression.
We hope to touch hearts with this installation by adding sound to our project, where each triggered visual stroke on our projected canvas will also be accompanied with a sound. We also aspire to excite the users by discovering their own strokes, visually and musically.  The human emotion is fluid, with this project we hope to deconstruct the emotion into something that can be seen and heard live.
