I have the honor of working on the National Jewish Health playroom mural. I'll be working in partnship with Starlight Children's Foundation. You can follow along here to see the progress from sketching to final installation!
This is the current room. It already has some imagery in it, but the staff at National Jewish Health is ready for a change. I started the project by visiting the hospital, chatting with the staff, learning about the kids that play in the room, and taking some measurements.
Next, I did a rough sketch of my idea for the wall and placed it on top of the pictures I took to give the hospital an idea of what it would like like in the end. There's a lot going on in the illustration, including some interactive components with magnets on magnetic paint.
One snowy day, my friend John and I worked on the sun, which had sun rays that you can rotate!
UPDATE: The contract with National Jewish Health fell through and I'm now seeking a home for this piece! Wish me luck!
