Dasara Seasonal Restaurant Flyer

Dasara is an Hindu festival that marks the victory of good over evil, popular for its royal procession of elephants in the historic city of Mysore. Dasara being the biggest annual festival in Mysore called for a seasonal special flyer for The 1961 - Restaurant and Bar, which serves authentic cuisines in the true flavours. That being the strong point of the restaurant, the flyer started with the visual of the decorated Dasara elephant.
Highlighting authentic flavours, the elephant was then assembled from the rough sketch by filling the form with various spices, with colours closest to the real life Dasara elephant.
With the surface texture of the spices, slight variations were made for the decorative portions of the decked up Dasara elephant, yellow gram (dal) was used in some areas to mimic ornamentation in solid gold.
The assembled elephant was shot and retouched slightly on Photoshop, and then made its way into the seasonal special A4 flyer.
Ornamental vector strokes in gold were used to capture the grand festive spirit, while the back page of the flyer showcased actual food shots of the restaurant's speciality cuisines with a description of the festive offer in the copy, and a map for directions to the restaurant.
