Falco:

In the video below you can see me using the boat console.
because we are using the boat console to control the boat, I decided to use leap motion to track the player's hands. it's incredibly clumsy to have to use the standard vr controllers with a console like that. the leap motion camera makes it so the player doesnt lose track of their hands while using the console in vr. I used one of the vr controllers to track the position of the console. (the controller is strapped behind the console.)

Mathijs:
I got the Console to work properly within Unreal, and respond to the button presses and moving the lever to move and turn the ship.
In the first video you can see a simple Developer Mockup of the Console to test things.
And the Final Model with the functionality of the Controller itself (Model made by Kevin Driessen)
Getting the controller to work wasn't to much of an issue, but finding out what button corresponded to what In-Engine Input took quite a while, only being able to work with the physical controller once a week due to Covid measures.

Regardless of the minimal time able to work with the Controller, testing from home wasn't too much of a hassle after having mapped functionality to certain buttons on the keyboard to see if stuff would work without the controller as well.
