This collection is a part of my Graduation Project at Obeetee Pvt Ltd.
I was asked to design a range of rugs for the home furnishing for living space ,inspired from Moroccan rug for SS 21', specifically Beni ourain Rugs .Keeping the brand's aesthetics in focus, the designs should be spaced out, soft edges, and the colour palette were also limited basically depending on the final look of it , that is neutral tonal.
While developing each piece , i was asked to explore various techniques of hand tufted rugs, such as loop pile, cut pile , & the various permutation combination i could apply to make it different from other rugs. Besides all the technical detailing, the greater task was to gel the collection together, for creating the desired impact

The art of Moroccan rug weaving dates back to the Paleolithic. Atlas Weavers Moroccan rugs are available in numerous patterns, geometric, abstract, in a wide palette of colours. The Berbers carefully preserve their heritage of technique and knowledge passing down messages in wool from one generation to another.
This collection is will bring the mixed taste of traditional-contemporary intrusion that will widen the perspective of seeing thing differently. Interaction of neutrals with the symbols never thought would make such kind of impression.
Initial Doodles - The initial doodle helps forming elements that will form a design .The research i did for the Moroccan rugs specially Beni Ourain rugs have some symbolic relevance that , now a day improvised or we can say contemporize for making “shag” kind-of rugs. The symbol of Berbers are a language in which people speak about people. It is primarily and principally derived from the human body, its shapes, movements and their feelings .In second place its draws few metaphors from the animals and plant environment.
