Powerdot MT Explainer

Illustrating the power remote clinicians can have with virtual sessions for muscle therapy.
In 2020, POWERDOT, tasked me with building out an explainer video for a new remote rehabilitation and physical therapy app and device system that could be used anywhere in the world.

The video needed to show how this new venture into trainer led instruction would be able to hold patients more accountable, and keep them from falling off the wagon. The video needed justify to physical therapy offices, clinicians and trainers that they would easily be able to send and receive feedback via the app as well as use the system effortlessly.

Using their colors, script and voice over I began by building out a hybrid 2D/3D look for the storyboards based off of their app and therapy programs.

Style Reference

After talking to the marketing director and looking at the brand materials they had I began pulling reference of my own to build out a complimentary visual library for Powerdot MT.

I had worked before in a style similar to what I thought could work with this video, but I wanted to modernize and make it a bit more lively with color and higher contrast. While the MT brand wasn't as edgy as it's originator, I wanted to be loyal to that origin. I added a few colors and tones to be able to differentiate the trainers from the patients and although usually I would have used a red for the 'pain' since red was their main color we needed to avoid that as well. I also needed to pick a style that could be easily accomplished in the time given.

Motion Theory

The theory was fairly basic for this in mirroring the brand. IT woul clean, with a bit of an edge to the moves, nothing too springy or fun. This was meant to inform and highlight the serious issues with muscle recovery and physical therapy
The Problem

To build the story the original look frames show a dark world highlighting the Hero in an ominous state, as well as the bottle neck of 1 on 1 Physical therapy. The transition culminates on the logo as we move to the solution.
Introduction to Powerdot MT

As we introduce the solution to copious problems with in person therapy, we move into a world of light, but follow the familiar design of the established trainer grey with the Powerdot MT blue as the main color theme.
Explanation

In this section I built out these initial boards that were analogous to the app itself while still being more visual appealing than just showing the app. It is a high level view highlighting the benefits without the visual clutter of the actual menus.
Resolution

In the end we revisit our hero in a new light and tie it together by showing that he has finally gotten help from his remote trainer.
