Daedalus Rimes Cover Art - Book #2

This is the second cover in the Daedalus Rimes saga, for which I was asked to do the cover art, design and the chapter art. This one actually started out being a licensed cover which Howard acquired before we even collaborated - it was the ignition - if you want. From there he decided that all cover should be done in the same manner.

Find out more about the author Howard W. Lewis here.
The image on the cover was a collaboration with 2 models, (Martina Jacobs and Jenny Tapanila) - one physical from which the mask/sculpture was made of and a virtual one. there are 2 other versions of this image that depict the sculpture better.
The sculpture is made of plaster and findings, then photographed and altered digitally with Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos tablet to change colors, open te eyes of the creature and make it look more haunting.
The prologue piece is about trivial excerpts from the interrogation of one of the main characters; Ruth Tuman.
The chapter art , always depicting a scene or giving an impression of the upcoming scene are kept in the same style as in book one to be consistent with the storytelling.
